Shinigami

Noble Families

The Four Noble Families and the Four Minor Noble Families are the politically ruling class of Soul Society. The Noble Families are said to be descended from the Royal Family, and the Minor Noble Families are branch Families of the Four Noble Families. The Four Noble Families were imbued with gifts by the Soul Queen, and became the first of each Species.

Baozhai
The most militant of the Noble Families, they are neither the most famous, riches nor the humblest. The Baozhai have close ties to the Second, Eighth, Tenth and Eleventh Divisions. The Baozhai are a family of Giants, reknown for their strength and valor.

Though currently all human, the Tsuyosa trace their lineage back before Seireitei was formed, and are descended from Vastine Amorte before the avians settled the mountains.

The Koga try excessively hard to immitate the Tsuoysa Family, but believe in knowledge, science and reasoning more than 'inner strength'. The least aggressive of the Families. Shimazu
The second most prestigious and politically minded of the Noble Families, Shimazu try to exist as one possible combination between the hard law of the Tsuyosa and the mighty fists of the Baozhai. Generally seen as execution-crazed law-fanatics, this family has made many contributions to Soul Society. The Shimazu has close ties with the Onmitsukidō. The Shimazu are a family of Werewolves, long since split from the wild Werewolves. They use their heightened senses for stealth and other actions.

The Gotei Thirteen

Zero Division

Frequently referred to as the Royal Guard, the Zero Division protects the Royal Family and works outside the Gotei Thirteen for the most part. They are made up of the most influential members of Soul Society's past, present, and, even rumored, the future. They obey no one but the Royal Family.

The leader of the Gotei Thirteen, the Captain Commander is generally the First Division's Captain. The Captain-Commander is generally, but not always, the most powerful and wisest Shinigami.

*Lanying Baozhai

First Division

The 'command' Division, the First Division is the head of most decisions that affect the whole of the Gotei. They have strong political ties. The duty of the First Division is to oversee the functions of the Gotei as a whole and manage the Gotei Military during combat situations, barking orders left and right.

Partners to the Second Division, the third specializes in information gathering. Fourth Division

The Fourth Division has the least combat experience, and are the doctors and janitors of the Gotei. They are the most likely to be bullied on the streets, but they are not to be underestimated; for they can refuse to treat the injuries of their bully-ers, or worse, will treat them improperly. It is considered poor to do so by the Division that prides itself on cleanliness, however. It is the fault of the Fourth Division that the Seireitei is so clean and presentable.

Fifth Division

The most Kido based Division, the Fifth are responsible for creating new Kido, both Bakudo and Hado. They are generally renowned for their members large spiritual stamina, able to work night and day developing Kido. They are seen as experts in Kidō in general and for that reason work hand-in-hand with the Kidō Corps and, as a secondary duty, monitor all incoming and outgoing Senkaimon.

Eleventh Division

Melee specialists of the Gotei. This Division has a long tradition of using brute force to solve every problem, and as a result, look down on Kido and Kido-type Zanpakuto. The Captain of Squad Eleven is given the title, "Kenpachi," and is viewed as the most skilled swordsman in Soul Society. The only way to become a Kenpachi is to kill the previous Kenpachi and take their position as Captain.

Hollows

King of Hueco Mundo

Formerly known as the Hollow King, the King of Hueco Mundo rules with an iron fist, and is the most powerful being of the land. Traditionally either an Arrancar or a Vasto Lorde, the title is inherited by defeating the current King in one on one mortal combat. The title does not refer to gender, and the King can be female. The King rules over the White Desert and Forest of the Menos from Las Noches, but their rule, as of now, does not extend to the Black Lands.

The Hollow Army

The Hollow Army is composed of several sections, primarily of Hollows and Arrancar, but annexes those they defeat into their ranks. The Army serves the King of Hueco Mundo

Las Negativas

Las Negativas are the most powerful members of the Hollow Army, and are the Royal Guard to the King. Traditionally, they are all Arrancar who were beyond Vasto Lorde in terms of power.

Espada

The Espada are the ten most powerful members of the Hollow Army. Each Espada leads platoons of the Army into battle and resides within their own castle in Las Noches. Each Espada has a tattooed number, with the least being the most powerful. The Espada are numbered 1-10, though the Tenth Espada is in truth the Cero Espada, the one with the most Reiyroku.

The Primera Espada is the leader of the Espada, and the most powerful combat fighter in their midst.

The Cero Espada has the tattoo of 10, but when they release their powers the one fades to reveal the true number. They have the most spiritual power out of the entire Hollow Army.

The Fraccion are single digit followed by a decimal and two-digits after that, Arrancar taking the number of their Espada as the number before the decimal, their rank as given by their commanding Espada. Espada can have as many or as few Fraccion as they choose.

Privaron Espada

Privaron are former Espada. The higher their tattooed number, the most recently they were counted among the elite. Though they are no longer Espada, they are still extremely powerful and far outclass their non-Espada brothers and sisters.

Stray Hollows

Strays are Hollows that did not fight for the King. They dot the landscape of Hueco Mundo and fight Shinigami, Quincy and each other for survival and power. Generally their overall strength can be determined by where in Hueco Mundo they live, with weaker Hollows living in the White Desert, Menos in the Forest, and the oldest, most powerful residing in the Black Lands, beyond the King's domain.

Togabito

Emperor of Sin

The Emperor of the entirety of Hell. Recognized as the most powerful Togabito, the Emperor rules with an iron fist and can dictate Hell however they please. All Togabito fall under their reign, though they're as much a prisoner of the Kushinada as any other. The Emperor resides over the Seventh Circle of Hell.

The Harlot

The "Empress" to the Emperor, The Harlot is the chosen mate for the current Emperor. The title is for either gender.

The Four Horsemen/Generals of Hell

The four most trusted advisers and fighters of the Emperor, each General resides over two or more Circles of Hell, controlling the populations in the name of the Emperor. They are on equal footing with one another, and each works directly for the Emperor.

Famine-
The first General of Hell, Famine presides over the First and Second Circles of Hell. Sends messages to Pestilence, or reports to Death.
Pestilence-
The second General of Hell, Pestilence presides over the Third and Fourth circles of Hell. Sends messages to War, or reports to Death.
War-
The third General of Hell, War presides over the Fifth and Sixth Circles of Hell. War sends messages and reports to Death.
Death-
The fourth General of Hell, Death presides primarily over the Seventh Circle, but their influence extends to all Circles. Receives messages from the other Generals and reports directly to the Emperor. Death is the Nocens second in command.

Other Togabito

By technicality, all Togabito are part of the Hell Emperor's empire, but most are not actively a part of the running of Hell.

Quincy

The Vandenreich

The Vandenreich, translated to, "Invisible Empire," is an organization whose sole purpose is to cleanse the world of any and all traces of Shinigami, Hollow or Arrancar culture and presence. Originally, the Vandenreich was an organization found in a select few ancient Quincy texts in which the organization and their, "Sternritter," - which translates to, "Star Knights," - battled forces that opposed and were a danger to the mortals they protected from afar. Seeking to emulate such a practice, the Vandenreich of both today and reality is made up of twenty-five high ranking individuals, known as the Sternritter. Each Sternritter is assigned a letter of the English alphabet which epitomizes their powers and unique capabilities. Under the Sternritter are a select few individuals known as, "Schüler," which translates to, "Pupil." The twenty-five Sternritter and their chosen Schüler are all commanded by a man whose title is known as, "Schiedsrichter," which translates to, "Arbiter." Through command of the Schiedsrichter, the Sternritter and Schüler seek to remove all traces of Shinigami, Hollow and Arrancar presence from the World of the Living; diplomacy is not an option.

The Schiedsrichter

The Schiedsrichter is both Sternritter A and the leader of the Vandenreich.. It is this Sternritter's job to organize, lead and command any and all of his or her underlings with the Vandenreich's main goal in mind. It is s/he who has the final call on anything regarding the Vandenreich. S/he is synonymous with the Gotei's Captain-Commander or Las Noches' King or Queen.

The Sternritter

The Sternritter are seen as the generals of the Vandenreich's army. They are powerful beings who are given a letter by Sternritter A which epitomizes their unique abilities in a single word. They command their underlings based on the will of the Schiedsrichter and fight in the name of the Vandenreich. Sternritter are the Vandenreich's equivalent to the Gotei's Captains and Las Noches' Espada.

The Schatten

The Schatten are a subgroup of Sternritter whose additional duty is, alongside their duties as a Sternritter, to infiltrate the different realms (Soul Society, Hueco Mundo) and bring back information with the intent of increasing the Vandenreich's intel on their enemies, preparing for an eventual invasion.

The Schüler

The Schüler are members of the Vandenreich who are taken in by a Sternritter. They do the Sternritter's bidding, making their job easier. They are highly decorated and respected members of the Vandenreich and thus are held in high esteem. They are the equivalent to the Gotei's Lieutenant and Las Noches' Fraccion.

The Soldat

The Soldat are the footsoldiers of the Vandenreich, most often impressed. The Soldat are anyone willing to join the Vandenreich's cause who is not recognized as a Vandenreich of the Vandenreich's lieutenants. Anyone is allowed to be a Soldat in the Vandenreich so long as they pledge their loyalty to the Vandenreich's cause.

Unaffiliated Quincy

These Quincy are usually, but not always, Gemischt, Quincy from an impure bloodline. They have no connection to the Vandenreich.

Fullbringers

Daedalus

A top secret organization that traces its origins to the colonization of the New World by Europe, with a Greek ship named Daedalus crewed by Fullbringers protecting European ships on there way to the Americas in exchange for land. However, the crew and ship spent many years even after settling protecting the normal humans, led by their captain, Phoenix and his six closest confidantes. Over the years, many people had adopted the names of the original seven leaders, to keep the Fullbringer community together.
In modern times, Daedalus is a highly classified organization that works with the United States government to protect American assets around the globe in exchange for owning a vast underground city in the American mid-west.

Creed

Daedalus has a single Creed that the entire organization functions around, that all members know by heart. Each seperate group in Daedalus has a modified version of this Creed, chosen by their current leaders.

"We are Daedalus. Our wings will reach the Heavens but never touch the sun. By night, shadow and secrets, our wings envelope the world. Go fly through the night, and never let the sea of desire soak your feathers"

Organization and Structure

Phoenix

The leader of Daedalus, who abandons his previous name upon being selected as leader. Phoenix has absolute authority over Daedalus,
but leaves the running of Daedalus to his or her Dragons. Phoenix issues no commands themselves, unless to declare war, issue peace, or name their replacement when they become too old to rule. Phoenix has direct command of the Dragons, and is in charge of finding their replacements should they die or retire.

The Dragons

The Dragons are the six leaders of Daedalus who each have absolute authority of a different aspect of Daedalus. The six Dragons are Fafnir, Ladon, Leana, Nidhogg, Svara, and Ouroboros.

Fafnir

he Dragon Fafnir is in charge of the Command division. They and their division are the ones that issue out commands to the other divisions. Everything goes through them.

Ladon

The Dragon Ladon is in charge of the internal day-to-day operations. They and their division are the medics and the overall watchers that keep Daedalus and its people safe.

Leana

The Dragon Leana is the External commander. They and their division are in charge of meting out judgement to their enemies and are on the front lines when it comes to combat.

Nidhogg

The Dragon Nidhogg is in charge of policing. They and their division are the ones in charge of protecting, keeping, and executing prisoners, as well as the ones who are in charge of investigating the organization as a whole, should they have reason to.

Svara

The Dragon Svara is in charge of stealth and infiltration. They and their division are in charge of spying on foreign entities, as well as infiltrating them should they need to.

Ouroboros

The Dragon Ouroboros is in charge of research and development. They and their division are the technological division, having the most knowledgeable and intellectual in their ranks. They also seek out possible Fullbringer recruits.

The Wandering Scholar (2012- Current)

Furies

Furies are the direct underlings of Dragons. Each Dragon has their own Furies. Furies are recognized by a golden badge shaped like a pair of wings with their respectful Dragon's symbol in the center worn somewhere on their person.

Harpies

Harpies work for the Furies, carrying out their orders and helping maintain order. They are recognized by a silver pair of wings with their Dragon's symbol in the center worn somewhere on their person.

Whelps

Whelps are all members of Daedalus who do not meet one of the above. They are recognized by a bronze badge of their Dragon's symbol.
Whelps have not yet 'earned their wings' and as such are the lowest members of their divisions.
