Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Azalea on Sat Sep 09, 2017 10:18 pm

Nocens saw the incoming dagger, followed its trajectory towards the slumped weakling. She saw the girl in the parka, the explosion of light. She saw the armor, the sword, the girl melding into the road. All these things going on at once. Nocens' mind, honed for combat, took all these things in. She knew that even with her speed, she couldn't deal with everything at once. Nocens groaned audibly. Honor comes first, she thought.

Sidestepping into the path of the dagger, she winced as it pierced her right shoulder. It felt lodged in there pretty good, so she shifted her sword to her left hand. As she did, she noticed the chain on the dagger, grabbing it with her right hand and gave it a mighty tug. Her left eye, well, only eye, focused on the girl in front of her as she brandished her sword. "I'll fight all of you!"

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Hanzō Judai on Sat Sep 09, 2017 10:48 pm

Hanzo leaned against the wall, on the ground still. As he tried to sit up, there was another cracking noise. As he tried to stand, the helmet split entirely, falling off his head in two halves. He had a plain face underneath, other than his glassy green eyes and large Fennec Fox ears. His eyes were still unfocused, but he could see the general idea of what was going on.

The Captain Tsuyosa was here, he recognized her. Was that bankai? So much light... And why was the little girl in front of him now? Hanzo tried to stand, but his head hurt. Maybe... maybe he'd just sit this one out, he thought.

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Shiroki on Sun Sep 10, 2017 3:39 am

It was official. When all this was over, assuming everyone survived; Shiroki made a mental note to file a request to Unseated Officer Borataro's Captain; recommending her for Squad 4 sewer duty.

He had heard of plans never surviving first contact with the enemy, but this was ridiculous. In the plus column, Officer Judai was safe for the moment and would likely remain so--assuming he had no intention of any further heroics. At this point in time, Shiro couldn't be certain of anything anymore.

The negatives column, however, was soundly exceeding the positives. Thus far, he had somehow managed to
1) obtain the Ryoka's undivided attention, making him the sole focus in this conflict
2) see that Captain Tsuyosa was still in the midst of attenuating her Bankai, and might not respond anytime soon
3) obtain Unseated Officer Borataro's not entirely misplaced hostility. Well, perhaps he had that one already, but now apparently he had given her a reason to attack him.
All that and it wasn't even half-time in the game.

As the lesser distraction in the equation, removing Officer Borataro presented the wisest course of action. One thing Shiro definitely did NOT want was having to deal with her annoying Shikai release on top of everything else. Even facing her one-on-one would be quite a headache. And since it did seem that he had the Ryoka's attention, Officer Borataro wouldn't be needing her zanpakuto for the time being. All these made confisca--*ahem, 'borrowing' it temporarily a reasonable precaution.

First things first--retrieving Inukaze had to be top priority; he didn't fancy his chances of facing the Ryoka with his pants down. Or Officer Borataro, for that matter.

Shiroki issued his mental tug on Inukaze, willing it to phase freely from the Ryoka's shoulder and soar back into one hand. He sent out a second wordless summons and prepared a third, even before Inukaze's offhand blade returned to his grip. The first was effortless enough, the second very much less-so; and he suspected Officer Borataro's reluctance to release her grip on her zanpakuto to contribute much in part to it.

Now for his 3rd recall--bracing himself for the sudden impact of collision; he experimentally tugged on the Ryoka female herself.

His eyes widened almost immediately as he sensed his opponent's density even as she hurtled for him; unwilling flashbacks from the time he had Fetched the entire 11th Division's Administration Office by mistake and nearly crushed himself under several tons of rubble playing out before his eyes. Gritting his fangs, Shiroki positioned Inukaze's blades over his chest in an X manuever and frantically started the Shunko technique of veiling his body in reishii as an extra protection against the brunt of impact. Touch her. Need to touch her to cancel the summon effect; he reminded himself, desperately hoping he would not be pulverized before then. And he would need to lessen the effect.

''Bakudo 37: Tsuriboshi,''

The impact of their collision sent them straight through the roof, upper floor, and lower floors of the building he had been perched on; and his beginner level of Shunko had not nearly been enough to mitigate the damage. He barely had the presence of mind to reach out and touch the Ryoka on the chest, shoving her aside before she could flatten him with her fall.

More rather, he shoved HIMSELF aside; the Ryoka proving too heavy to be budged. Just what WAS she? Seeing her stalk towards him through the pile of rubble that had been a building only seconds before left no doubt in his mind that he needed to retire to a safer distance. Even so, part of him noticed the way her feet were sinking into the ground with each step.

Alright. So she's heavy. She could crush us if she wanted to: duly noted. Solution?

"Then don't let her," Inukaze supplied helpfully. "Attack at range,"

"And how am I supposed to do that?" he watched the Ryoka approach carefully with one eye, calculating distance.

"Remember that time in the Academy when you fought Sensei and used--?"

Ah! Of course...

Struggling to his feet, Shiroki raised both paws out towards Soul Society's latest Cosmic-Horror-of-the-Month and grunted out, "Hado 33 - Sōkatsui,"

Even expecting the effect, his body sent out protesting stabs of pain as he was hurled backward through the rubble, landing on his back a fair distance away. He forced himself back to his feet again, running a tongue over his jaws to check for loose fangs and coughing out a trickle of blood. Everything hurt like hell, but his joints still worked when he made them--which could be a good sign that nothing important was broken. His thoughts continued to race at breakneck speed, processing his options.

Okay, he had managed to somehow remove the Ryoka to another location which would limit casualties. Anybody still alive who had seen the building collapse would be running as far away as they could in the other direction if they had enough sense. That was good. He was also still alive; and that was even better.

The fact that he was now stranded and facing an unknown enemy one-on-one, still bruised from his near escape from death? Not so much. He took stock of his surroundings. Officers Judai and Borataro were far away and would be of no help. It was probably best if things stayed that way. Captain Tsuyosa, however...surely she had sufficient time to prep her Bankai by now. Had it been twenty seconds yet? He could feel her reiatsu still spiking away, the information registering vaguely in his mind.

Time to pull out the big guns.

Not entirely sure if it would work; he activated his last Recall--concentrating on the bone Inukaze had pierced through earilier and willing it towards him. Normally, he would have refrained from resorting to such a violent manuever--Inukaze's technique prioritized wholes; not parts...so doing something like that could well have torn that strange Ryoka's entire skeleton from its fleshy moorings and left her as nothing more than bloody pulp at his feet. Not that part of him wasn't looking forward to it, paperwork be damned.

Nothing of that sort happened, much to his surprise. The Ryoka jerked and fell forward as something small and white was ripped free to arrive at Shiroki's location. Somehow she had been strong enough to resist, only giving up a section of bone in the process. In most cases such a major injury would have been enough, but apparently this wasn't one of those cases. Already the girl was getting up, looking strangely untroubled by the gaping wound. Just what WAS she, some kind of zombie or something? And here he was, with no more Recalls remaining. Holding Inukaze by its hilt in a loose grip, he casually laid a paw on its edge, pricking himself in the process. The way things were going, he would probably be needing an ace up his sleeve.

Fallback plan: Bluff, and bluff BIG.

Shiroki rested Inukaze's handle on his shoulder, trying to appear nonchalent. "You really don't know when to quit do you, Onee-chan? And here I was trying to knock you out quickly, before Captain Tsuyosa gets to play with you," he spread his arms, using that as a cover to pour more energy into his Shunko as quickly as possible and put an expression of convincing sympathy on his features. "Bet you can't even FEEL the reiatsu she's blasting about, can you? Someone of your level won't be able to, but she's seriously pissed off at me so I can't be playing with you any longer. It's so intense I'm surprised you can't hear her--'Stop wasting time and kill her already, we have paperwork to do'... Well, she's right. I don't like paperwork, but I don't wanna be in the doghouse even MORE so... no hard feelings, Onee-chan,"

Alright. Fake Bankai Time... The last time he did this; he had managed to make one of those 11th Squad muscleheads nearly stain his pants. It was a fond memory; one that he revisited from time to time.

Shiroki drew on his reiryoku reserves; building them to a cataclysmic height and letting them tint his voice with an eerie echo of power. He kept stoking the flames, forcing the emitted reiatsu to rise ever higher, gradually plateauing to a level just below Captain Commander Baozhai herself. Not that he could actually DO anything with this illusion of power, but it sure as hell made a convincingly impressive performance.

"Bankai."

Hopefully his Captain or even the Captain Commander herself would notice the sudden spike of pretend power and come to save him in time.

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Sabiruchi Tsuyosa on Sun Sep 10, 2017 9:31 am

Damn it, damn it, damn it Sabiruchi thought right before she was fully submerged into the ground. Fucking people do whatever the hell they wanted... No matter.

With her body within the street, she was effectively fused with everything touching the street, and everything touching that, so long as she had a direct connection to it through technology of any level. And with this fusion, she became aware of everything in the vicinity. So, the Ryoka wouldn't let anyone who was already defeated get hurt... But there was so many dead inside the Academy's entrance. And behind her, Itsuya Boratoro and the Lieutenant were screwing around arguing... She'd best deal with that first.

The upper part of Sabiruchi's body emerged from the roof tiles beside the Vastine Amorte girl. "Ignore him and focus on the Ryoka;
keep your fucking head in the game and prioritize, damn it!
" With no other words, her body slipped back into the tiles.

She felt the building's collapse as a dull ache. A part of her was destroyed, but she had to remind herself that it wasn't her. Only a building. Did they not know how much paperwork a building's destruction was?

Sabre's torso appeared, leaning out of a partially fallen wall beside the Lieutenant, her lower body and left side still within the building. "You had one job, Lieutenant! One fucking job, stay behind me," Sabre yelled loudly from right behind the Werewolf. She had heard him talking and couldn't believe it. How freaking hard was it to evacuate the wounded and not fight? "Just try not to get yourself killed or I swear I'll track you down in your next life and make you file your own damn death report!"

As Sabre got increasingly more angry, her spiritual pressure increased and grew heavier, denser and darker. Her Zanpakuto/Hollow Spirit was waking up and she could hear his voice, telling her to destroy the Ryoka and punish everyone else for not following her orders. "I'm fucking trying!" She yelled out loud, aiming her sword and making a vertical slash with it, striking the piles of metal and wood from the building's fall.

After contact, the metal disappeared and her sword became significantly larger, taking on a serrated edge. She also gained a long piece of twisted metal wrapping around her arm as some kind of armor. Sabre stabbed her sword into the ground, the blade sinking into the floor and appearing directly under the attacking girl, between her feet and rising upwards.

She blinked, her sword now gone.

"But....How am I supposed to fight without my Zanpakuto?!"

Why am I getting in trouble? I'm the victim here!

"Werewolf, give me back Shitsumi!"

She yelled, frustrated. She couldn't do much from here, without her Zanpakuto atleast. She had such minor training in Kido that she'd be useless... And he was using his Bankai? Itsuya had heard about how scary his Bankai was... But that was little to her concern.

She just wanted her Zanpakuto back, and right now.

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Azalea on Sun Sep 10, 2017 9:31 pm

Nocens swore in her first language, one from over fifteen thousand years ago. Nobody spoke it, anyone else who knew it long dead and turned to ash. Her shoulder burned, and thick red blood oozed down her front. Her right arm hung completely uselessly at the strangest of angles, the shoulder blade itself torn straight through her body, tearing the expensive silk shirt she wore. It hung from her, no longer covering her upper right side, exposing her grey chest on that side, now drenched in oozing blood.

She was about to go on the offensive with another hot pain struck her in the upper right thigh. A sword was growing from the ground and had stabbed her, cutting along the meat of her thigh as she'd been moving forward. Had she been holding still, it would have gone straight up the middle!

Stepping back into her legendary speed, Nocens moved forward, almost instantly appearing between the girl in the wall and the dog-boy. In a giggling voice, she called out, "My turn to do the bankai," swinging the sword at ankle height on the dog-boy, turning in an arc, raising the sword in a fluid motion to attempt to cut off the girl's arm at the elbow. As she said 'bankai' that empty, unfamiliar spiritual pressure returned, pressing down on everything around her.

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Shiroki on Mon Sep 11, 2017 1:50 am

Shiro suspected what the Captain was intending to do well before she did it, flinching as a massive spike erupted from street cobbles and thrust upward.

Jeez, Captain--overkill much?

Then he revised that earlier assumption; seeing what should have skewered the Ryoka instead land a glancing wound as she darted out of the way. He had trouble tracking her movements as she came to a stop in a location he would never have allowed himself to be if given half a chance. By placing herself between them, the Ryoka had opened herself to flanking maneuvers and would need to divide her attentions between both her enemies in front and behind. It was the kind of position he tried to drum into Retrieval's recruits to always avoid, no matter what.

A rookie mistake, but not one he was willing to pass up. They needed all the advantage they could get. Since Ryoka-chan seemed so intent on slashing them, Shiroki brought Inukaze up to parry the blow; marking Judai's asauchi as he did so. He followed that up with a feint at her head, interrupting her assault on the Captain in the process. Then he took a step back literally and figuratively to consider what should be done next.

Now that fighting had begun in earnest, it was clear they had to find some way of counteracting the enemy's speed. If she could be slowed down enough, he had no doubt that the Vizard Captain would quickly resolve the situation. The problem then; was finding how exactly to do it. He already knew from recent experience that it would probably take more than a broken limb. Thanks to their short exchange though, he had a number of options
A) disarm her by trying to summon the asauchi he had marked earlier (to do that however, he had to use recall on himself first--as he had marked himself as a precaution against her crushing potential.
B) drop another building on her; Captain's wrath be damned. He was starting to think nothing short of crushing her under Sokyoku Hill itself would be enough to settle the matter.
C) or he could try Bakudo again, and try to pin her for long enough for the Captain to do something impressive. That required some coordination between him and Sabre though, something he wasn't too sure they had. Retrieval worked as a unit; every member knowing exactly where to be and what to do in any given situation, taking cues from teammates around them.

He decided on C. A and B could always be backup options. Shiroki had allowed his reiatsu alarm to fade with the Captain's appearance, freeing himself from the burden of maintaining the channel. He swung his offhand baton in a rising motion; taking care to slash close enough that she would feel the blade's passing without touching the skin. The abrupt manner in which their enemy came to a halt confirmed he had been successful.

Void claws: Inukaze's slash had literally displaced the air along its passage, creating a tiny vacuum rip in space that drew all surrounding air inward to replace it. Anyone caught in the impact would be frozen briefly, compressed from all sides by the air itself.

That would not hold the Ryoka for long, he knew. The pressure inflicted was not fatal; only enough to force targets to halt in their tracks for a moment or two. He followed up with Bakudo #1: Sai while she was distracted, binding both arms in place. Then he strengthened the low level binding with paralysis Bakudo #9: Geki laid on top of it--speaking the incantation AFTER the spell to support its effect.

"Disintegrate, black dog of Rondani!! Look upon yourself with horror and then claw out your own throat,"

That would have to be enough; he had caught the Ryoka by surprise but she was quickly beginning to recover. The binding was intended as a temporary distraction, not a permanent solution.

"Got her all wrapped up for you Captain, but not for long. Better make it count,"

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Sabiruchi Tsuyosa on Mon Sep 11, 2017 8:14 am

Sabre pulled herself from the wall while the monster of a girl was distracted by Shiroki. As she did, her floating armor shifted and changed, taking on a less bulky form. Around the Captain, long blueish spikes formed wings, a crown, floating round paulderons, a skirt and foot armor. Her modified sword twisted on itself, becoming a long-barreled gun.

The Captain fired shots at the ground around the Ryoka once she was caught by the Bakudo. When she did, chunks of rubble and twisted metal and wood transformed into medium sized automatons that would clamp their limbs or teeth into the Ryoka's legs, seeking to increase the restraints on the girl. Sabre began to charge up another, much larger shot from her sword-like sniper-barreled gun, bright light glowing from the tip as a low, thrumming hum started.

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Itsuya Borataro on Mon Sep 11, 2017 9:01 pm

Itsuya's mind buzzed, thinking of a solution of something to do without her sword, thanks to a certain, loveable werewolf taking it. She thought back to other strategies she could use... She wasn't any good at unarmed combat-- Aha! The perfect plan; A Bakudo!  With a deep inhale, she began to recite the chant, repeating it in her head a few times.

"Carriage of thunder, bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six! Bakudo number Sixty One, Rikujōkōrō!"

Itsuya pointed her right index finger towards the Ryoka Intruder, and just then, a golden light shot from it. As it hit the Ryoka, six rods of light stuck through her in a star shaped pattern. She breathed a little harder now. A Bakudo in the level Sixties was tolling on her. She jumped off of the rooftop, her wings extending. she swooped down to catch a falling roof-tile. she wound it up as if it were a Frisbee...

And with that, she threw it, spinning through the air towards the Ryoka's chest.

She flew back up, over to the Werewolf Lieutenant, swiping her sword from him disapprovingly, not caring to so much as look at him.

Nocens looked around with her eye. So, this was happening. Her arms were stiff, her legs stiff. Some pieces of building were eating her legs, and now there were lights sticking in her.

Through sheer will and might, Nocens got her jaw muscles to unclench, ready to give a big talk about how she'd be the bestest Shinigami ever when something hard hit her in the chest. "The fuck?" Nocens yelled suddenly, her breasts aching from being hit by a roof tile. The fuck was that for!? Her single eye looked at the one who threw it and narrowed.

"Oh, when I get out of here, I'm going to be soooooo nettled," she threatened, though her high pitched, girlish voice diminished the effect. Her sword-arm rising halfway, though incredibly slowly as she muscled her way through the various spells on her, might help.

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Shiroki on Tue Sep 12, 2017 5:04 am

Shiroki's suspension of disbelief had decided that there was nothing that could suprise it anymore, and so he took in the sight of this Ryoka invader casually overthrowing a kido spell barehanded in his stride. This was good, as it freed up resources to decide their next course of action.

The humming he could hear building to climax decided matters for him. No way in Hueco Mundo did he want to be anywhere near ground zero when the Captain unleashed whatever hell she was planning on the target. He could be of better use on the perimeter instead of being caught in the blast radius. And speaking of perimeter, where in the Soul Queen's name was Retrieval anyway? Not that he expected them to be able to achieve much now he had a better understanding of that monster...zombie...thing, but he would have thought them to arrive right about now.

The unexpected shout and six pointed hexagram of light that followed it made him sigh and rub at his temples. As if this day could get any worse. Officer Borataro was back in the thick of things it seemed, and just as adamant about getting herself killed by the look of it. Well, at least she wasn't aiming at him. He supposed that could be counted as progress.

Scooping up the sword he had confiscated (it had reverted back into its sealed form on leaving her posssession), he flash-stepped to the rooftop she was on and tossed it over, then quickly got out of stabbing range in case she still felt homicidal. His second Shunpo took him straight to the largest building in the area--whereupon he flared his power at insane-Captain-levels again and watched as the souls inside got the hint and evacuated like a horde of rats. He had never been on the receiving end of it of course, but judging from the state of his Inner World it was likely to be dark, bleak and ominous: a thick choking blanket of miasma that promised death and cold retribution for anything and everything nearby. Then he did a quick sweep of the structure to check for stragglers, assisting anyone who had been paralyzed from being exposed to his reiryoku alarm.

Once satisfied, he returned to the building's rooftop and did something he was almost certain he would later regret--plunged Inukaze's point straight through to cut the roof he stood on; marking the entire freaking structure as a target. He also activated his first two Recalls, phasing briefly in place and mentally tugging at Hanzo's asauchi as he did so. Disarming the ryoka while she was bound and distracted would be the best time to do it, he doubted he would have much of a chance in other circumstances.

Then he cut himself again--this time on the other paw, wincing as he added another bleeding scratch to the first. At this rate I'll be bleeding out before the Ryoka does...an exaggeration, but still a sobering thought.

Assuming Sabre's armaggedon did not manage to take her out, he would finish the job. It would be in a manner more flashy than the assassinations he was used to; and no doubt the Captain would chew him out again for more reckless endangerment of public property, if her earlier reaction was any indication--assuming of course he survived the attempt. And if he didn't, he had no doubt Captain Sabi meant every word when she threatened to hunt down his fallen spirit and make it responsible for his own death report. He did not perform the communications Bakudo to inform her about his intentions--partly because they were out of time and partly because he already guessed what she would say: That it was a stupid dangerous stunt more suited to the 11th Division, placed allies in danger as much as the enemy, and brought harm to the community they were sworn to protect.

Good arguments, every one; but at this point he was more concerned with getting everybody out of this in one piece than he was about the potential repercussions to follow. They could always worry about public relations and rebuilding Rukon if everyone survived.

So he waited--both to see if his Recall would work and for the Captain to finish charging her strike...upon which he planned to do something incredibly stupid.

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Sabiruchi Tsuyosa on Tue Sep 12, 2017 8:30 am

Captain Tsuyosa's gun fired a missal-sized bullet of energy upwards, which floated in the sky like a tiny star. Her voice, clear and commanding called out, "Himitsu no sabi āto: Kyūkyoku no mashingaia!" Secret Rust Art: the Ultimate Machine Gaia, the most powerful technique she could use in her Elegance state, one that she hadn't used since obtaining Bankai. If this doesn't kill her, nothing will, Sabre thought. In her mind, her Zanpakuto reminded her that she said kill, not capture.

With her shouting the name of her technique, the automatons fell apart, the stone, metal and wood crumbling all to rust. While it would free the Ryoka's feet, the deep rumbling and miniature earth-quake signaled that more was coming.

And indeed, more was for the street behind Sabre, near the Academy exploded upwards, sending car-sized chunks of road and earth flying. Reaching out of the ground was a gigantic limb, far greater in size than the surrounding buildings. This huge bestial arm bent, crashing to the ground, and the earth shook again, more street and buildings being up-heaved as more of this monster pulled itself from the earth. The arm, with its flat foot as wide as most buildings, as attached to a proportionally huge body.

The creature at first appeared to be completely organic, and stood with the posture of a boar, but had an almost frog-like head due to the amount of flabby fat on its neck and incredibly wide mouth. It's head had two long horns growing from the eyebrow ridge, and a multitude of spines stuck from all over its back, all sweeping slightly backwards.

On closer inspection, one might notice that its flesh, pebbly in appearance, was not unlike the conglomerate concrete humans used near waterways, and the huge spines and horns were actually twisted pipes and small buildings of metal.

This creature would be too large in size for anyone in the vicinity to take it all in at once, and could probably be seen for many kilometers, dwarfing everything.

Sabre Shunpo'd out of the way as the creature raised one massive foot, bringing it down upon the Ryoka and everything within a city block of her.

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Itsuya Borataro on Thu Sep 14, 2017 8:13 pm

At this time, only one thought passed through her head; This. Is. Bad.

Using her wings, she propelled herself backwards to back off from the area. She saw that the Ryoka was beginning to escape, so just for safety measures, she decided to use another Bakudo.

"Carriage of thunder, bridge of a spinning wheel. With light, divide this into six! Bakudo number Sixty One, Rikujōkōrō!"

She pointed her finger at the Ryoka after rehearsing the phrase, a light bolt firing from her finger, again. The same pattern spiking through her torso in an attempt to immobilize her. Deep down in her heart, she just wanted to fire one of these at the fur-for-brained lieutenant near her, but now was not the time for an argument.

She held her Zanpakuto, it currently sealed, and was sealed ever since the lieutenant swiped it. She then rehearsed the phrase to release her Zanpakuto.

"Release your Holy Light, Shitsumi!"

A blinding light was sent to Nocens, in an attempt to daze her by knocking her five senses out of their comfort.

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Nocens' eye looked at the monster. It was so big, bigger than the Kushinada that she had tied to the front of her Palace! And she felt sooooo stiff and slow! Nothing felt right either, and she thought things were moving when she knew they weren't. What was going on?

So super slowly, Nocens tried to raise an arm, to lift a leg and dodge but her body wouldn't follow her directions. And it was getting darker as that foot came closer. Nocens slowly tilted her head up and yelled in shock as it crashed down around her.

Her body reacted on its own, due to thousands of years of conditioning. Whenever she had been scared in the past, she'd let her Nefarious flow and activated Genocide, and this time the ability activated on instinct rather than conscious will.

Those from the outside would only see the foot go back upwards as a heavy, dense, black reiatsu exploded upwards, blasting outwards in all directions with enough force to knock that monster backwards. The Spiritual Pressure just felt wrong, so dense and heavy and just as if it shouldn't exist in Soul Society. Nocens' Negative Spiritual Pressure cascaded over everything as she stood on two feet in the crater left behind by the creature's foot. Black arcs of spiritual energy lashed out from her body like electricity.

Black armor covered her body. The clothes were gone completely, leaving only a skin-tight suit of black armor that left nothing at all to the imagination. With a loud, echoing crack, the black helmet shattered, showing off her face again, but it was immediately followed by a louder cracking. At the base of her spine the armor exploded outwards and Nocens screamed in agony as Hell Chains flowed out of her body, driving into the ground. Her screams were wretched as the chains just kept coming from her body, flowing downwards before they erupted out of the ground quite a ways from her, looping up and creating a sphere of chains around her body.

The chains moved fast, but not nearly as fast as Nocens. But they bit straight through anything in their way, tearing through the monster's front half. Anyone who didn't escape in time would soon find themselves trapped in the sphere with Nocens before it would shrink rapidly down into a singularity, leaving no traces of anything that had been without 300 feet of the Ryoka in any direction, including straight down and upwards.

If possible, the screams of agony that escaped Nocens seemed to linger long after everything was destroyed.

Combat:

Hell Chains move at an Advanced speed. They strike using her Master Spiritual Combat, but their movements are incredibly rigid due to her being untrained at manipulating the chains.

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Post by Shiroki on Fri Sep 15, 2017 1:55 am

The last lingering notes of anguish echoed in his ears and added to an already worsening migraine as traces of reiatsu ebbed away. Shiro blinked.

Okay... So. That happened--

He kept staring at the now-empty crater just in case the Ryoka decided to claw her way back to the surface like zombies were supposed to do. Nothing happened for the first minute; and more nothing in the second. It came to his attention that he was still holding Inukaze in shikai form, and wondered idly if he should return it to sealed state.

Only now did he sense the reiatsu trace of his AWOL squad. Late to the party, as usual. Somebody was going to get chewed out for sure. On the heels of that thought: realization--as he looked upon the rubble and devastation they had collectively caused.

"...and it's not going to be me," he informed no one in particular.

"Corps Commander?" one of the now-present Patrol Unit looked askance at the wreckage, then at the Lieutenant, and back to the wreckage again. "Did something..."

"Nothing happened here," Shiro informed his subordinate neutrally. "You were never here, you didn't see me here, and as far as anybody knows, we're all in our Barracks minding our own business. It's where we've been since this morning, and nothing's happened since. Especially nothing involving a distress call from the Rukon or anybody going to check it out,"

Thank Kami, the officer appeared to get it. "Yes, Lieutenant. Absolutely nothing happened,"

"Well, not quite nothing. Halfway through our paperwork, we heard a crash from the Academy section of Rukon. But because there was NO distress beacon requiring our presence, we decided to send Squad 4 to see if anything needs cleaning up instead," the cub tilted his head meaningfully. "Isn't that right, 8th Seat?"

"As...as you say, Lieutenant,"

"And Squad 4 will find some signs of a struggle as well as some fatal casualties. A gang fight in the Rukon districts, which ended in some gang members dead. In the fight some idiots managed to cause a flare explosion or something, and knocked down a building,"

"...knocked down a BUILD--" Shiro raised an eyebrow. His officer was well trained, somehow able to turn an incredulous exclamation into a cough. "I mean, obviously that's what happened, Corps Commander,"

"Good. Hustle and scramble--you know the drill,"

They did indeed. This wouldn't be the first time Retrieval had needed to cover up...*ahem* that was to say...discover...an incident scene. While Shiroki wasn't in the habit of trusting most people, he knew he could count on his unit to interpret his meaning and get the job done. They certainly had enough practice at it ever since his appointment as Head.

The only loose threads here would be Captain Tsuyosa, as well as Officers Borataro and Judai. The Unseated officers would see which way the wind was blowing quickly enough. As for the Captain...Shiro was willing to bet she wasn't a fan of filing damage reports either and wouldn't mind a bit if everything could be resolved neatly and easily. He reminded himself to report to Division 13 for a talk with its Captain to go over certain matters. Just to make sure everyone got their stories straight.

That could wait for later though. He needed to be at his desk and in the Barracks right away, in case anybody came looking. The alibi comes first after all. It always did.

"Nothing happened," commented Shiro again; the very picture of studious concentration as he sat at his desk pouring over the latest reports in his in-tray. The overall effect was slightly ruined by the way his kosode jacket hung haphazard on his person, and the fact that his Lieutenant's Badge was currently upside down. But so far nobody in the Squad Barracks seemed particularly keen to bring either of those matters to his attention. "Nothing at all."

"Nothing," agreed his Retrieval Unit, a couple of them in similar states of disarray as their Corps Commander. If anybody happened to be passing by, they would not see anything out of place unless they approached for a closer look. "Squad 4 has been made aware of the situation-which-has-absolutely-nothing-to-do-with-us, Lieutenant,"

He noted the words 'made aware' instead of 'informed' and approved. If all went well, there would be no trace of 2nd's involvement in the matter whatsoever. "Good: Which is what I'd say if you had something to do with it, which as we all know it doesn't,"

"Now--who's up for some house rules kido tag?"

Re: The Emperor and the Bet (OPEN TO ANYONE)

Sabre stood in her Bankai state for a while, staring at the damage. Her Ultimate Machine Gaia lay in half, its body miraculously standing on three limbs instead of crashing to the ground. It would vanish when she sealed her blade, but for now it stood, a slain monster over the wreckage. A six-hundred feet across hole was all that remained of the strange attacking girl. "Azalea..." Sabre said softly, the name the girl kept shouting. Who was she? Was she dead? And how had her spiritual pressure been so much greater than my own, Sabre asked herself.

Sabre watched the Lieutenant run off. When he was gone, she returned her Zanpakuto to its base form, the monster she had summoned disappearing, leaving only death and destruction behind.

She remained in front of the Academy when the Fourth arrived. She aided them in recovering the bodies. There was too many dead for her liking. Far too many dead in the wake of her Bankai's release and the girl's attack. Sabre had made a grave miscalculation in thinking her Bankai could handle the intruder, and now that her Zanpakuto was silent, she wondered how she could have ever thought using Himitsu no sabi āto: Kyūkyoku no mashingaia had been a good idea. She should have used her Himitsu no sabi āto: Shinseina buki; it was obvious the girl hadn't been a Shinigami! Hating herself for giving in to emotions, the Captain gave orders to secure the location and that her best men would be arriving to assist.

Sabiruchi had to find the Commander. Lanying would hold onto Ikite iru sabi no nami for her, and after today probably wouldn't ask why the Captain wanted her Zanpakuto taken away. She didn't want to hear its voice again, not for a while at least. Once she gave Lany her Zanpakuto for safe keeping, she'd get started on the paperwork. Her and Lieutenant of the Second would have a lot to discuss, and she wanted to be sure every detail of her report was a hundred percent accurate. She knew very little got past his watchful eyes; he probably had seen a lot more than she had.
