The Corroded Heart (Sabiruchi SOLO thread)

Post by Sabiruchi Tsuyosa on Thu Apr 20, 2017 3:06 pm

(This thread is set after the conclusion of Musical Malady with Admin approval. This takes place one week after Sabiruchi becomes Captain of the Thirteenth Division)

Sabiruchi Tsuyosa stood outside the North Gate on the Seireitei side. She was standing with her shoulders back, intent on the conversation she was having with a tall, but fat man. She wore her heavily modified Haori over her usual white and black dress, under which she wore very short shorts that weren't visible despite the dress only coming to the mid-thigh. Her Haori was heavier than typical, with long sleeves and a cowl sewn onto it. She had modified the garment until it was essentially just a larger version of her typical parkas. On her back was the insignia for her Division, as well as the Kanji for "Masked Soldier."

Sabre was in talks with a construction company currently. On one side of the street, Human construction workers stood in groups, talking amongst themselves. Behind Sabre, huge piles of building supplies were stacked, upon which fifteen Baozhai-affiliated Giants lounged and relaxed. The Giants dwarfed everyone present currently, besides the North's Gate Keeper who was on the Rukongai side of the Gate. Sabre had specifically hired the largest and strongest of the Giants that would be willing to work as guards and aid in transporting materials through Rukongai. Unlike the Humans, the Giants were relaxed and drinking from flasks the size of mead barrels.

"I understand you're concerned about your men's safety, Mister Kabold. But you'll be accompanied by myself, a Captain, as well as all these fine men behind me. You'll be perfectly safe, even out as far as Kusanagi." Sabre had made a purchase on land out in the 79th District of the Northern Rukongai. She was intent on building an outpost mansion in the incredibly harsh district, to reaffirm that the Tsuyosa Family was also intent on bringing order and law to the Rukongai's wildest parts. It wasn't that she didn't trust the Baozhai to keep order, but she trusted herself more.

The lead contractor, who owned the company that Sabre often employed in the lower Districts to rebuild houses, repeated his grievances. Kusanagi is too far; too dangerous; a mansion out there is just asking to be raided and destroyed; it's a pointless job. Sabre shook her head. "Me and my best men will be protecting the mansion from the very beginning. We're going out there to make it more ordered and civilized, to ensure the law is carried out equally throughout Rukongai. Besides, Baozhai patrol out that way as well; are you implying the Tsuyosa are somehow inferior and more fragile than the Baozhai?" Sabre's soft voice had a slight edge to it, but she smiled as well, her face saying she was teasing while her voice hinted that the man should answer carefully.

While the two argued lightly, a breeze picked up, blowing Sabre's Haori outward and revealing her legs and dress. Before now, the garment of a Captain had wrapped around her, hiding her outfit to keep the chill off her. She noticed a couple construction workers eyeing her revealing dress, with it's deep neckline and ample amount of leg revealed. Behind her, however, she heard a drunken whistle and turned slightly.

One of the larger Giants was eyeing her, his face red with drink. He was nudging a friend of his, while pointing to the seemingly young woman who had hired them. It was clear from his buddy's face that he didn't share the first Giant's fondness for Human women. The giant who was leering at her was a massive man, standing at roughly sixty feet tall and very heavily built. In fact, Sabre's first impression of him, with his ragged, unkempt beard and hair with bulging muscles was of a stereotypical Viking she'd read about in certain stories. She could actually picture him wearing furs and wielding a battleax and huge shield. Sabre searched for his name, and believed it was Nibuisekiei. If she recalled, he was a cousin of some sort to Lanying's late husband. He was also, like most Baozhai, quite a drunk, but twice as blunt and crude.

Sabre stood with her hand on her hip, turned slightly to watch both Mister Kabold as well as Nibuisekiei. She, and probably quite a few others, heard his drunken comments about her rear and legs, despite the Giant's supposed effort of 'whispering' behind his hand to his friend.

Re: The Corroded Heart (Sabiruchi SOLO thread)

Her attention split between the manager and the body guard she had hired, Sabiruchi tried to continue the conversation and was making some degree of progress, though the Giant's drunken behavior was not winning over the construction workers faith.

The new Captain tolerated the Giant's behavior for another ten minutes before his comments had gotten so crass that they were bringing a blush to all the Humans' cheeks. Saber noted that the other Giants were also ignoring Nibuisekiei, and he had now turned to catcalling her directly.

With a bow to the manager of the construction crew, Sabre said "Please, pardon me while I take care of this."

Sabre turned and walked towards the crude man. She had to tilt her head far back at this distance to look him in the face. She could swear that she saw food stuck in his beard and briefly wondered how often he bathed or washed.

"Is there a problem, Nibuisekiei?" Sabre asked in a soft voice. She wasn't sure if he'd be able to hear her, but thankfully the wind had died down by now.

The Giant grinned, and once again Sabre thought he was a rather ugly brute. It was no wonder she didn't know him. "N' prablum, hot stuff," Nibuisekiei said in a deep voice, his voice drawling on. "'ust wonderin' when ya an' me have some one an' one time." He laughed as if he was a very clever man. In his mind, Sabre thought, he was an expert at flirting. Unfortunately, this was reality.

Sabre let her gaze turn hard. She wasn't surprised it had no effect on Nibuisekiei, though the others seemed to sober a bit. Sabre cast her gaze to both sides, motioning for the area around them to be cleared.

"I see nothing wrong with where we are currently. If it'll placate you into silence, lets make a little wager. A short fight just me and yourself. If I win, you be silent the rest of the day. You win, we'll go on a date, tomorrow."

She could feel the looks on her. Some felt she was crazy; the man was nearly twenty times her size! Others felt pity for the Giant; he wasn't even a Shinigami and she was a Captain. But, Nibuisekiei's face said he only heard the word date and had his mind made up. He was clambering to his feet.

Sabre held up her hand. "Hang on. You clearly have an advantage over me in terms of size and strength. Let's have a battle between weapons rather than a fist fight. I won't even release my Shikai, and I'm certain one of your friends will loan you an axe." Sabre looked to the nearest Giant, who handed Nibuisekiei an axe from his belt. The drunk Giant hefted the sharp, rather beautiful weapon with ease.

Sabre stepped a few paces back before bowing to Nibuisekiei. "Whenever you're ready. First to lose their weapon is the loser." Sabre drew her short Zanpakuto. The knife sized weapon made her look even more unprepared as Nibuisekiei lifted the axe over his head. She could tell immediately that he was unexperienced with weapons and wasn't thinking clearly when he brought the axe straight down upon her with the full strength of his body.

Sabre side-stepped the axe, extending her Zanpakuto sideways as she did. The wind of the axe crashing towards her blew her hair wildly, and she felt the earth shake as the axe tore into it, crashing straight down at her Zanpakuto. As the axe fell, having smashed against her Zanpakuto's edge, Sabre jumped to avoid the worst of the shaking. As she did, she pulled the small knife up along the axe's flat side. She landed on the back of the axe, balancing while Nibuisekiei tried to pry the axe from the ground. It came loose with a heave, Sabre still standing on the section where the head met the shaft. The entire section where her Zanpakuto had dragged against remained in the ground. She had cleaved through the axe with ease. She heard Nibuisekiei's astonished grunt as she ran up the shaft while he was still lifting it higher, jumping before slashing downward at an angle. Her Zanpakuto sliced through the handle just above his fingers. The remainder of the axe fell to the ground with a massive puff of dirt and dust.

Sabre stood between the Giant's feet, her back to him as she sheathed the Zanpakuto. "You lost, Nibuisekiei. Now, if you would, please refrain from speaking for the rest of the day. As for you," Sabre said, turning to the actual owner of the axe. "I do apologize for the damage. I will pay for it to either be repaired or replaced."

Without paying any more attention to the stunned Giants, Sabre went back to the manager of the crew. "As I was saying before, we will protect you from any harm. You and your men." She wasn't going to mention that she had actually coated her Zanpakuto with her spiritual energy, hardening the blade with her resolve. She mostly did this to convince the crew that they were safe with her. And to shut Nibuisekiei up. That was a pleasant bonus.

Re: The Corroded Heart (Sabiruchi SOLO thread)

Post by Sabiruchi Tsuyosa on Tue Apr 25, 2017 4:28 pm

Roughly an hour later, the whole group was underway. The group was moving slowly, due to those on the construction team being unable to flash step. While the Giants may or may not have been able to flash step, they had a far greater stride, so it made little difference.

Nibuisekiei was silent. Mostly from embarrassment, Sabre could tell. The Giant was walking behind Sabre, who was leading the group. He walked behind and to her right. The crew walked in the middle with the rest of the Giants spread out, two in the front with Sabre, two in the center of the column, two at the back, with the other eight on the streets adjacent to the main, walking parallel with them.

As Sabre walked, back straight with the manager beside her, she thought about recent events. The mastery of her Mask, becoming a Captain, the slight loosening of the restraints on her rights. So much was new and different. She had always wanted to become a Captain, but now she didn't know what to do with herself. She didn't have the workload of being in the First, despite having a higher position. She mainly gave orders and was still trying to get to know her Division. She hadn't changed the positions of anyone, not yet. She wasn't sure how she felt about the Seated Officers yet. But they worked together prior to her taking over, so she figured she should not mess with a working system when she was still green.

But, with her new position, something else became more noticeable. She was still single. Not that it had ever bothered her before, but it was more noticeable now. Now that she had the position she had longed for, she was noticing what else had been missing. She was already working on her familial ties, trying to be kinder to her Family. But that just reminded her that she was unmarried and had no Heir. Maybe that's why she had meant what she said to Nibuisekiei. He wasn't an attractive man, and she only knew him due to them both being Nobles. But a date didn't mean marriage, right? Besides, she knew he was a "safe" option; it wouldn't due for her to be involved with someone who wasn't Noble. And he was one of the very few who showed any interest in her, despite her dual nature. And thinking of that made her feel guilty for having deceived him.

"You may speak again, Nibuisekiei," Sabre said softly, knowing he would hear. It was empty on the streets to make way for the Giants and crew. As she said it, she turned her head to look at him. His eyes were glued to her, and she was certain from the way he was grinning that he had been watching her the entire way rather than keeping a lookout for any trouble, not that there'd be any this close to Seireitei.

When the Giant didn't speak, only letting out a deep, throaty laugh, she continued. "I typically eat dinner at eight PM sharp, Nibuisekiei. I'm assuming you do own something nicer than your current attire, correct?"

Nibuisekiei gave her a bewildered look. "Wassat?"

Sabre sighed, keeping her head turned while she walked. "Your clothes, Nibuisekiei. You do own nicer clothes, correct? I promised you a date, did I not? It wouldn't do to have you wearing something like that when we get dinner together. After all, I'm certainly going to be dressing up and not wearing my work clothes," Beside her, she felt the manager give her a confused look, but Nibuisekiei was only grinning wider than she thought possible. Sabre continued, "I'm sure we could get Commander Lanying to assist you in getting ready. I'm sure it'll be quite public despite being short noticed. After all, it's not every day the Head of one of the Four Noble Families goes on a date."

Nibuisekiei uttered a long string of cuss words emphasizing his excited-ness about the prospect of the date. Briefly, she wondered if taking Lanying out would have been a easier idea.

Re: The Corroded Heart (Sabiruchi SOLO thread)

Post by Sabiruchi Tsuyosa on Thu Jul 13, 2017 3:34 pm

Sabre had escorted to the first rest spot before her and Nibuisekiei turned back. However, by that point, her four personal butlers had caught up to the group, and had taken their place, aside from the albino, Luna, who accompanied the duo back.

Sabre slept in her own bed that night, and spent the following day with Luna, getting dressed and ready for her date, trying on various dresses and hairstyles, talking casually with Luna about her nervousness and how long it had been since anyone shown interest romantically. That got a laugh from Luna, who, along with the other three, had been hired by Sabre to sate her carnal desires.

When the date actually came, Sabre was dressed in a long, slim dress with black crosses, a more formal version of her normal attire, and her medium length hair was brushed to a shine. She was pleased to see that the Giant Nibuisekiei was wearing a suit, most likely borrowed from another Baozhai based on the tightness across the shoulders.

The ate at a restaurant, though they ate outside the building in an area meant for Giants and their guests. The food was pleasant, and Sabre and Nibuisekiei made casual talk getting to know more about one another. Sabiruchi could tell after mere moments how uncomfortable he was; totally out of his element. That was fine; she thought he looked better in dirty clothes anyways. To end the night at the restaurant, Sabiruchi sang a song for everyone, having been asked twice to perform; she was surprisingly a popular idol in Seireitei, a task she continued to perform even after becoming Captain.

Nibuisekiei and Sabiruchi walked back to the Baozhai estates, parting ways with a flirtatious comment from Sabre about what they could do next time. As she left the Giant, late into the night, Sabre thought about what else could happen in the future between the refined Vizard and the crude Giant.
