Voice analysis complete. Would you like to set this voice as your default text-to-speech option?

Did she really have the nerve to try to analyze a Captain's voice? What a joke, Kei would have an army of Captains come if they had to in order to stop such an action. He would, if he had to. No, he didn't seem like a speed-based person, that was a grave error in judgment though. Not everything was what it seemed. No sooner did the voice finish speaking did the tip of Kei's blade strike at the source of it's voice. It would be like a bolt of lightning, without sound, without anything to track it. Kei was an assassin, and the phone must die, there was no way anyone would ever be allowed to use his voice but him. The strike was so incredibly precise not a hair, not a flake of skin, nothing would be hit that would cause injury. If she moved to avoid, his reverse blade style would allow an even faster followup attack with much less ability to hold back from cutting her in the process.

Even proposing the idea of copying a Captain's voice would land some dead without anyone knowing, but she had a worse problem, Kei knew about her father, and knew it was a sore spot for her. Even if she COULD manage to block the attack, she would have to consider how easily Kei could have him taken out in the night, watched twenty four seven by teams of his personal team and have an assassin in and out without any indication. Kei was a Captain and he was a bedridden man, there was no possible way to keep him always safe, she would die just trying to stay awake long enough. On top of that, Kei wouldn't even be the only threat if he leaked her whereabouts to Quincy leaders. She'd have two armies after her, if she had a brain in her head she'd let the phone bite the big one and buy a new coat.

What's worse about Kei, was his connections with the Shinigami Captains meant he had connections with the twelfth division. That meant this entire incident was being watched, so cloud storage was not an issue either. If he could take out the original device, the cloud storage would be gone without Kei even needing to know what cloud storage meant. Humans built to prevent other humans from interacting, but Shinigami technology was leaps and bounds beyond human technology. This was how Shinigami were able to interact with the human world so easily. How they could make a gigai and get a legal document proving their existence even though they technically didn't. Fooling governments was considered childplay, a cloud network was worthless.

This being Kei's only motion though left a terrifying revelation, if she didn't get hit, she might have time to realize, Kei's image didn't even move when he attacked. He could have attacked several times toward her without giving up his position. This of course was not the full story, but there was no evidence to the contrary. Even if he did destroy the phone, there would be no way to identify his abilities otherwise. Though one thing did eventually change in him, the image would vanish, then reform. The new image would be Kei standing several feet behind her, facing her with his blade still in it's reverse hold. If there was intention of violence, it definitely didn't show in his posture or his movements. One thing was for sure though, the image left behind was him walking. Kei had set another trap.

Re: Homecoming (Open)

Azure's face contorted as a hot pain flashed through her arm. The pale-blue Quincy cloak quickly became dark as she yanked her arm out of the pocket. In her hand was her cellphone, destroyed. Her arm was bleeding profusely, where the flesh of her forearm had been resting on the cellphone. The Shinigami had cut through the thick meat of her arm, but had luckily missed the major veins, instead cutting through muscle. She couldn't move her pinky or ring finger, she noted as the phone dropped onto the roof floor.

Azure cast a brief gaze around in disbelief. He had attacked her! If not for her phone, that sword could have gone straight between her ribs and struck her in the lungs. Depending on the angle, it may have even slashed her stomach, resulting in a slow death.

Her disbelief lasted only a second and a half, however. By the second second passed, her eyes were glaciers of unfathomable coldness. She didn't make a sound, but there was a burst of pink-tinged yellow-white Reiatsu around her. The energy released by Jōkaeil's activation hadn't even dissipated before the nearly eight foot tall Quincy fired twenty arrows straight overhead and watched them arc into a circle that encompassed the entire building as they landed on the ground. Though she couldn't see them, she knew that the arrows were sunk into the ground and were now connected by a ring of Reishi. Letzte Prophezeiung: Mondpriesterlied had activated successfully.

When the power cleared and Azure could be seen again, she was wearing a heavy suit of armor, though it was slimmer than one would expect. It was white and golden in color, and did not protect her wrists, ankles or shoulders. From her back grew six Reishi wings. In each hand, she held a curved sword, each glowing with Reishi, one of which was still pointed skyward.

Strangely, if the Shinigami was observant, he would notice how silent the world had become. The city could not be heard, nor could the wings or swords in Azure's hands. She had gone straight into her Vollstandig, bypassing her more well-known Azurblauermond completely. And she had used her Letzte Prophezeiung: Mondpriesterlied to trap the entire building within the Mondpriesterlied, the Moon Priestess' Song. Now, within the space of the building, no matter how high vertically, all sound was canceled. No voices, no subtle sounds of clothing. Even the sounds that should have drifted over the ring of Reishi that surrounded the building were gone. Those on the street, however, would hear a constant humming, on the lowermost threshold of hearing. But here, in and above the building, no sound worked. Not even the noises within one's own body could be heard. Azure was now in a world as silent as herself. She felt the faintest pity for the Shinigami, now blind and deaf, unable to see or hear anything anymore. But the burning of her right arm stopped that feeling cold. He drew first blood. She'd be certain to draw last blood.

Her flinch that caused blood would make the image of Kei suddenly vanish, and after image of where he struck her now left behind, but this one was different. The pose showed he was piercing with one hand on the blade, like a pool cue, he had aimed directly for the phone and had she remained motionless he would not have touched her at all. The image was odd though, this one wasn't clear, and unlike the others, it seemed harder to see. Kei may be blind and deaf in this arena, but it seemed her moving into his blade was making her blind too, the difference? Kei could still sense her exact position, but his was a mystery.

Then a more frightening thing happened, the image vanished entirely. Up until now, she'd be able to see the images, but now they only seemed to appear to move where he was, now they were vanishing entirely. She would be alone on the roof, no one. Then a faint image would appear. Seeming mostly to be in front of her, occasionally there would be none at all. He might be circling her, that made the most sense, it would explain why sometimes there was no image. Though even in those few moments provided to analyze, it got worse. Soon there was nothing. No image, just that lingering spread out reiatsu that implied he was still there, but it was everywhere. Completely displaced, though now with him out of sight it became more noticeable that the reiatsu felt harder to sense.

If sound could be heard by her, she'd hear the sound of metal clanking to her left, like the tip of a sword being dragged along the roof before a low strike, an attempt to make a blade jagged before landing the strike for maximum injury. Though this sound came, no image came with it. More traps, more tests, even in combat Kei took advantage of every possible situation to test his opponent. Even an attack was a chance to test his opponent's strengths and weaknesses. This sound would be the only way she'd be able to detect this particular attack, if she reacted it would be clear she had hearing, if she didn't she'd risk another injury. Even avoiding or blocking was providing Kei with more information than he had before.

Re: Homecoming (Open)

Azure could not hear, but she didn't need to. She was beating her wings, attempting to get into the air, but at her size it took a moment. But as it did, she dropped her right sword, letting it fall to the ground. Once it left her grasp, the sword in her left doubled in size and intensity. Even she found it hard to breathe as the sword began rapidly draining Reishi out of the air. Had sound still been real in this space, the air would have resounded with a harsh screeching as Reishi was physically torn between her wings and massive sword. Azure was steadily flying upwards now, though, climbing several tens of feet above the rooftop.

Azure stared forelornly at the building. Her huge sword now pointed directly downwards and she mouthed a phrase "Mondschein platzte." Of course it made no sound. But, it was the name of one of her more basic Quincy attacks, and as she said it, one-hundred thin arrows shot out of her sword, sweeping from the left to right sides. Almost all Quincy could fire a vast multitude of arrows, far more than a bowman could. And it became apparent instantly that her massive sword functioned just like her bow would have. As the arrows rained downward, Azure had a single thought. She thought the word 'lift,' mentally picturing the Shinigami raising his arm.

Due to the power of Jōkaeil, if even a single arrow touched the Shinigami, he would be unwounded. But, the moment he attempted to lift his arm, he would find himself physically incapable of doing so. Should he try again, the arrow that touched him would instantly appear, and more would appear in the same location every single time he raised his sword arm.

The attack rained down though there was no clear way to know if it hit or not. There was no movement, though the reiatsu did remain. Seconds would pass, though no image. It seemed like there was a longer wait than normal though before any reaction from Kei, was he still analyzing? Two seconds, three seconds, nothing. Then after all that, the attack came from above. Thrusting the sword downward, Kei struck for her shoulder. He didn't care if sound would normally be made now, she couldn't hear, the test proved it. She did avoid the strike well, but it wasn't aimed well in the first place. It was more to test her senses. Now Kei was striking from above, aiming his sword arm downward, so even if he were hit, the piercing blade would allow for his strike. One of two things happened, he was either lucky, or the time spent with no reaction meant he tried to attack and found himself unable to, so he tried a different attack.

With both being completely possible, Kei's style of fighting could be seen like Schrodinger's Cat. Both had to be considered true until one was proven. However, with him striking downward, she'd neither see, sense, nor hear his attack toward her shoulder, an attempt to weaken her means of attack by reducing accuracy and drawing more blood. Her powers were definitely interesting, but Kei's earlier prediction seemed right, ranged attacks were a risky game against his style of combat. Even if she HAD hit him, there was no definite way to know for sure just yet. Additionally, with his ability to walk on the air like it were the ground, flight did little for separation between them. It just meant he was now fighting on a new plane. If the attack landed, it would be a swift strike that was quickly withdrawn, giving little room to react even to the pain of the strike, his assassin-like nature preferring to keep on the move to force the enemy to make big reiatsu draining attacks while he conserved and used small precise ones.

Azure felt the injury to her shoulder and reflexively turned, slashing her massive sword with ease. She'd allow her blut to stop her bleeding shoulder wound, just as it had for her forearm. But, that would prevent her from reinforcing her sword with the offensive power of blut. Regardless, she wouldn't need it. As she swung, she thought of the word "jump," picturing the action in her mind. Should her swing make contact, the Shinigami would find himself unable to jump, regardless of whether it's jumping up, to the side, or backwards.

Even more cruelly, once Azure had completed the swing, she checked herself, ensuring her body was relaxed before suddenly her spiritual pressure was completely masked. She no longer had a presence, not while her Unsichtbarer Spaziergang masked her spiritual pressure. But, the trick to her Invisible Walk was remaining calm; the moment she attacked or was attacked, it was broken. So, remaining as calm as possible, she raised her big sword upwards and took a deep breath before firing a series of arrow almost directly upwards, feeling the rise upwards, then turn and fall back down, randomly falling in the space of a couple meters of her body. As they fell, she thought distinctly of "run," picturing it in her mind. If she was lucky and an arrow struck, deciding to go with random dispersion than a planned strike, the Shinigami would be unable to run, though he would be able to walk, even jog. But a full run would be beyond him.

Another image, in fact with an arrow hole in his sleeve. With it being a still image it was very clear he'd been hit at least once from the first volley. As she struck outward though she'd feel her sword clang against something solid, though a small amount of blood came with it, Kei was near her still, but there was no sign of him. His image showed him holding the sword forward, no longer holding it backward. Kei was no longer playing offensively, he had to remain somewhat defensive with her barrages being her primary method of attack right now. The image would nearly instantly fade this time, and worse it was so blurry it was hard to make out facial features, there was no doubt that every strike of his blade made it harder and harder to track him. Kei's reiatsu additionally became exceedingly hard to trace. With her removing sound from the picture, Kei was working with what advantages he had.

This suddenly took a strange change as her reiatsu faded, though Kei made struck where she was before, able to determine what paths she could take based on the flight of the arrows. She hadn't left many safe spots, only her original spot. This meant she was trying not to hit herself. She had used the attack quite well, but Kei easily adapted to her removing reiatsu, had she not fired any arrows, he would have no way to truly sense her location without sound. They would be in the same boat, with the only exception being her weapon. Any projectile could be tracked and he would be able to sense if there was movement, but not which direction it was going. These minor details though didn't matter, she fired up and Kei stabbed down from an angle, so he would be safe from the volley as long as he remained in the same central area above or below the woman.

Azure felt the sword cut into her upper chest, sliding across her breastplate. It drew blood from her breast, but she decided it wasn't anything to worry about. Once again, she let her spiritual pressure vanish. Now, though, she flew higher, growing more confident. If her sword-strike had been true, the Shinigami was rendered incapable of jumping without worsening his sword-wound. Every time he jumped, he would receive a slash to the same area. But, that may not stop him from ascending to follow her.

Another twenty feet above her previous position, Azure made herself invisible, sealing off her spiritual pressure with her Invisible Walk. The Shinigami, rendered death by the ring of reishi around the building, blind both visually and spiritually, had no way to track her, she realized. So, her six wings flared outward as she moved near the edge of the building, letting herself drop like a stone until she was right against the ring that encompassed the building. With a quick slash of her sword, she broke the ring. There was an extremely loud screaming noise as all the pent up noise rushed to fill the void her technique had created. As she broke the line, however, Azure sealed her Quincy powers, returning to her normal human appearance. With her spiritual pressure hidden, and her naturally silent walk, she started down the sidewalk, casually.

She regretted having to abandon her box. Her bow was in there, as well as a decent number of her arrows, and the voice analyzer was in the bottom compartment. Not that it did her any good without her cellphone, which was also left on the rooftop. The majority of her equipment was gone, she realized, save for the Hollow Hunter arrowheads she kept in her pocket. Damn Shinigami, Azure thought as she continued down the street.

While she was within his reiatsu, Kei could feel the displacement, but he couldn't find where she went. Finally though she did the one thing he could track easily, she left. The moment her foot left the radius of his reiatsu, she would feel it close back, he was still on the roof though. Gathering all the goodies she left behind, Kei planned to document them and bring them to the 12th division. They would tear every fiber of existence to experiment on enemy weapons and equipment for any possible information, and they'd probably be grateful of how good the condition of most of it was. The gate opened once more, and with her gone, so too was all of her belongings, examined for any possible equipment that might be remotely accessed, and if any were there, they would be disabled and/or destroyed. Seems as if Kei needs to write up another report.
